Process Notes

Over the course of about 8 weeks, I took a deep dive into indigenous + mid-century architectural design. This allowed me to study minimalist forms, intuitive functions, as well as a variety of structural solutions for everyday human problems that span across time. It was important to create a product that had a calming appearance + stacked functions.

Rendering + Visualization

Once I found a concept that addressed all the needs this project set out to resolve, the next steps were to conduct technical sketches, followed by material tests in Photoshop + finally 3D renderings in Cinema 4D. Once in the 3D software, it became apparent that more visual unity was needed in the overall shape language of the set, so some last minute modifications were made to the stem of the lamp frame.
